Tucked away under a massive rock overhang on our farm just 4km outside Lambertsbay, Bosduifklip is the perfect wedding venue for the wedding couples who want an authentic West Coast wedding.

-the blacksmith shop as it looked in 1870-
Bosduifklip is a double award winning wedding venue (2015 best Seaside venue, 2016 Most unique wedding reception venue) in a national wedding vendor awards competition.

A popular combination is to have the wedding ceremony on one of Lambertsbay’s beautiful little beaches, followed by the reception feast here at Bosduifklip.

But many choose to do it all here at the rocky outcrop.
The rustic setting is spectacular and unique and can accommodate up to 150 guests – open-air on the rock ledge overhang, or under our roofed area, where you can dance in the firelight beneath the stars.

From the foot of the massive sandstone slabs overhanging the rough-hewn, wooden tables, guests have a vista of rolling countryside with the Jakkals River running through it.

With more than 25 years experience in the restaurant and wedding industry we are capable of making sure that your wedding day runs smoothly.

Our buffet menu offers a local fusion of traditional slow-cooked Sandveld cuisine and fresh seafood and gives you a West Coast food experience.

Look no further if you want your wedding to be different, unique and unpretentious.

More history:

BOSDUIFKLIP is situated on the farm Albina owned by Kobus Engelbrecht. He is the 4th generation Engelbrecht farming on the farm since the original farm was transported by title deed to his great grandfather in 1881.

During the years the open air section was used for informal parties and family occasions. First in December 1967 for Kobus’s eldest brothers’ engagement party and then also when Kobus held his 21st birthday party there on 18 December 1971.

The name BOSDUIFKLIP was given to the huge formation by Kobus’s grandmother because of a large colony of rock pigeons that had their nests on the rocks.

Kobus and Aletta Engelbrecht were married in 1978 and are the parents of four daughters. All the cooking is done by Aletta and Kobus with the help of one or two employees.

Planning for the restaurant started in 1990 followed by the doors officially being opened on 15 August 1991. The original open air section was enlarged during the years to accommodate up to 150 people. Next to the open air section is an undercover portion set in an old stone kraal. The kraal was built by Kobus’s father in 1941. It is bordered by one remaining wall are of a blacksmith shop from 1870. The large roof over this section was designed and constructed by Kobus with the help of 2 men in 1994 and enlarged with the flat roof area in 2002. He enlarged the last part in 2005 and the restaurant can now accommodate up to 150 people in the undercover section.

Besides our “onvergeetbare” food we are also situated against beautiful rock formations that we light up at night to create the most romantic setting. We have an open air restaurant section and a beautifully covered area that is built over a old ‘kraal’ building dating back to 1941, each accommodating up to 150 guests. We also have a fully licensed bar and two outdoor dance floors where you can dance under the stars with your loved one and be swept away to create long-lasting memories
